reo, powered by oOh!media today announced the appointment of JJ Eastwood as Director of Product, Data & Technology, to support the growth of retail media networks.

Eastwood is charged with scaling the company’s retail media capability across Australia and New Zealand. The role will drive reo’s ad tech and data roadmap from powering smarter targeting and closed-loop reporting to building scalable, omnichannel solutions for retailers and brands.

One of APAC’s most experienced digital advertising and retail media leaders, Eastwood was the founding Managing Director of Carousell Media Group, where he built Asia’s largest multi-marketplace retail media network, reaching more than 40 million shoppers each month. He also led Rakuten Advertising’s APAC business and launched eBay’s advertising division in Australia.

Andrew Every, Chief Strategy & Retail Media Officer, oOh!media, said: “JJ is an outstanding individual, and an internationally respected retail media commercial leader. His passion for the digital landscape and ecommerce combined with valuable expertise in product innovation, programmatic advertising, and scaling new businesses will drive commercial results with our retailer partners.”

JJ Eastwood added: “Retail media is entering its next phase of maturity, with the future lying in consolidation, smarter measurement, and unlocking the untapped potential of true omnichannel advertising. reo is uniquely positioned to lead this shift, blending oOh!media’s national footprint with strong brand partnerships and data innovation. I’m thrilled to join Andrew and the talented reo team to help define the future of retail media in Australia and New Zealand.”

Following Renae Usher’s appointment in June as Director of Sales, Eastwood’s addition marks another step in reo’s momentum in driving growth in retail media. reo has rapidly expanded its footprint in 2025, partnering with leading retailers including Petbarn, Officeworks and Australia Post to build best-in-class retail media networks that connect brands with millions of Australian shoppers.

According to Morgan Stanley Australia’s retail media market will nearly triple to $2.8 billion by 2027.
